How to Create a Binance Account in 2026

Step-by-step Binance registration guide. Learn account setup, KYC verification, and security setup.

目录

Binance is the largest crypto exchange, and setting up an account is straightforward. Let me walk you through it step by step, including the parts many people miss (like proper security setup).

Step 1: Go to Binance and Create Account

Navigate to binance.com and click “Register” in the top right.

You’ll see two options:

  • Register with email
  • Register with phone number

Either works fine. Choose what you’re more comfortable with. I’ll use email as the example.

Enter your email address and create a password:

  • Use a strong password (mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols)
  • Don’t reuse this password from other sites
  • Write it down somewhere safe (or use a password manager)

Check the terms of service (or don’t—most people don’t), then click “Create Account.”

Binance sends a verification email. Open your email, find it, and click the verification link.

You’re now registered. Seriously, that’s it for basic account creation.

Step 2: Enable Two-Factor Authentication (Do This Now)

Before doing anything else, set up 2FA. This is critical:

  1. Go to Account → Security
  2. Click “Enable” next to Two-Factor Authentication
  3. Choose between Authenticator App (better) or SMS (acceptable)

Authenticator app method (recommended):

  • Download Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy
  • Open the app
  • Click the + to add account
  • Scan the QR code Binance shows
  • Enter the 6-digit code from your app
  • Save the backup codes somewhere safe (seriously, not in your email)
  • Done

SMS method (easier but less secure):

  • Binance sends codes to your phone
  • Confirm with the code
  • Done

Authenticator app is better because if your phone is hacked, SMS is vulnerable. Most people should use an authenticator app.

Step 3: Complete Identity Verification (KYC)

Without KYC, your account is limited (can’t deposit fiat, can’t withdraw much). Do this immediately:

  1. Go to Account → Verification
  2. Click “Verify Identity”
  3. Choose your country
  4. Choose ID type (passport, driver’s license, national ID)
  5. Take a clear photo of your ID (straight angle, good lighting, readable)
  6. Take a selfie
  7. Follow the live photo instructions (usually hold ID, show your face, etc.)

The whole process takes 10 minutes. Approval is usually instant but can take a few hours.

Pro tips:

  • Clean lighting is critical—too dark and it won’t read your ID
  • Make sure ID isn’t expired
  • Selfie should clearly show your face
  • Don’t wear sunglasses or hats for selfie

If rejected, the most common cause is blurry ID photo. Retake it in bright sunlight and resubmit.

Step 4: Fund Your Account

Once verified, you can add money. Go to Wallet → Deposit:

Deposit options depend on your country:

  • Credit card (Visa/Mastercard)
  • Bank transfer
  • Local payment methods (varies by country)
  • Crypto from another wallet (always available)

Credit card (fastest):

  • Enter amount
  • Binance shows fees upfront (usually 2-3%)
  • Complete payment
  • Crypto arrives instantly

Bank transfer (cheapest):

  • Enter amount
  • Binance generates bank details
  • Transfer from your bank
  • Takes 1-3 days
  • Lower or no fees

Local payment (varies):

  • Depends on your country
  • Check what Binance offers for you
  • Often fastest and cheapest

For first-time buyers, credit card is simplest even though it costs more.

Step 5: Buy Your First Crypto

Once funded, go to Buy Crypto:

  1. Choose how much to spend
  2. Select the cryptocurrency you want
  3. Review the exchange rate and total
  4. Click Buy
  5. Crypto arrives instantly

That’s it. You now own crypto.

Security Setup After Registration

You’ve enabled 2FA. Now do these:

Set up an API key (if you plan to use trading bots):

  • Account → API Management
  • Create new key
  • Name it something (like “Trading Bot”)
  • Restrict permissions (enable only what you need)
  • Save key somewhere safe
  • Don’t share with anyone

Enable login alerts:

  • Account → Security
  • Enable email notification for logins
  • Now you get alerts when someone logs in

Withdraw address whitelist (advanced):

  • Account → Security
  • Add withdrawal whitelist
  • Only allow withdrawals to specific addresses you control
  • Prevents accidental sends to wrong addresses

IP whitelist (optional but good):

  • Account → Security
  • Whitelist your home IP
  • Only your IP can login
  • If you travel, you need to whitelist new IPs

Understanding Binance Fees

Trading fees: 0.1% per trade (buy or sell). Reduced to 0.075% if you hold BNB.

Withdrawal fees: Varies by cryptocurrency. Usually $1-5 or equivalent in crypto.

Deposit fees: Credit card 2-3%, bank transfer 0%, crypto 0%.

Convert fee: Using Binance Convert (crypto swap), usually 0.5%.

These are reasonable and competitive.

Using Binance Convert (Not Trading)

If you already own some crypto and want to swap it:

  • Go to Trade → Convert
  • Select from/to tokens
  • Enter amount
  • Get instant swap at fixed rate
  • No trading fee (but Convert charges a spread)

This is easier than using the trading interface if you’re not a trader.

Common Registration Mistakes

Don’t use a weak password. Seriously, “123456” or “password” gets hacked.

Don’t skip 2FA. It’s 2 minutes to set up and prevents 99% of account hacks.

Don’t verify from a VPN. Binance rejects KYC from VPN IP addresses sometimes. Use your regular internet.

Don’t share your login details. Binance will never ask for your password.

Don’t lose your authenticator app backup codes. If your phone dies, you lose access without them.

After Registration

You’re now part of Binance. Your account is ready for trading, staking, and earning.

If you’re new to crypto, start small. $50-200 is a good amount to learn with before investing more.

Risk Disclaimer: Crypto trading is risky. Never invest more than you can afford to lose. Binance is regulated but exchanges do get hacked occasionally. For large amounts, use hardware wallets. This is educational content, not financial advice.

FAQ

Is Binance safe?

Binance is the largest exchange by volume. They have insurance for some assets and reasonable security. That said, any exchange carries some risk. For large amounts, use hardware wallets.

Do I need to verify my identity on Binance?

Yes, for most features. Basic registration doesn't require ID, but you can't deposit fiat or withdraw large amounts without KYC verification. Most people verify immediately.

How long does Binance KYC take?

Usually 10-15 minutes for basic verification. Some people get approved instantly, others wait a few hours. Rarely takes more than a day.

What if Binance rejects my verification?

Common reasons: unclear ID photo, wrong angle, poor lighting, ID expired. Retake the photo in good lighting, straight-on. Usually resubmission works. Contact support if rejected twice.
