Actually, for basketball fans the FTX exchange has only recently entered the spotlight, mainly because in March 2021 FTX signed a 19‑year arena‑naming agreement with the NBA’s Miami Heat, after which the American Airlines Arena was renamed FTX Arena. In the crypto world, the name FTX exchange and its founder SBF have long been familiar, attracting a large number of investors who wish to trade digital assets.

How does the FTX exchange work?

The FTX exchange allows you to fund your account, withdraw assets, and trade cryptocurrencies through deposit, withdrawal, and order functions; the FTC token is currently tradable on the FTX platform.

How to Complete Deposits and Withdrawals on FTX

  1. Deposit: After clicking the “Deposit” button, the system displays the blockchain address for the selected token. Copy the address and transfer the token to it.
  2. Withdrawal: On the “Withdraw” page, enter the destination address, amount, and other required information, then confirm. The system will automatically process the withdrawal.
  3. View Records: Scroll to the bottom of the wallet page to see real‑time deposit, withdrawal, and historical trade records.

Risks and Liquidation Mechanism on the FTX Exchange

  • Margin Concepts
  • Total Margin: The aggregate value of all margin assets in the account, converted to USD.
  • Available Margin: The amount remaining after subtracting margin that is already allocated. For example, if the account’s asset value is $2,846 and $1,000 is used as margin, the available margin is $1,846.
  • Leverage Calculation
  • Leverage Ratio = Position Value ÷ Used Margin. If the position is $9,000 and $3,000 of margin is used, the leverage is roughly 3.33×.
  • Margin Ratio = Used Margin ÷ Position Value (i.e., 1 / Leverage).
  • Maximum Leverage: Adjustable via a slider; this setting only changes the maximum risk the system will accept and does not generate an order.
  • Maintenance Margin Ratio: If the account’s margin ratio falls below the system‑defined maintenance margin, FTX’s risk engine will trigger a forced liquidation to prevent further losses.
  • Sub‑Account Management: Within a single sub‑account, the system aggregates margin and positions across all contracts. To diversify risk, you can use separate sub‑accounts to isolate positions.
  • Real‑Time Margin Updates: FTX updates margin data almost in real time (within 30 seconds). Profits are reflected instantly in the wallet balance and can be used to add to positions, purchase other tokens, or withdraw. The only exception is that the platform does not display profit/loss before a forced liquidation occurs.

Trading Channels for the FTC Token

  • FTX Exchange: Currently the FTC (FTX Token) is listed on the FTX platform and can be bought or sold directly on the spot or futures markets.
  • Other Platforms: If you wish to trade on alternative exchanges, keep an eye on official announcements or consult reputable market data providers.
Tip: Before engaging in leveraged trading, be sure to understand the margin requirements and liquidation rules, and manage position size responsibly to reduce the risk of forced liquidation.
